Meet the Team

Dr. Henk Heus, Ph.D. Vice President of Product Management Henk Heus has been with GQ Life Sciences since 2001, where he currently heads up the vision, strategy, and execution for GQ’s Aptean business. He holds a PhD in human genetics and has over 20 years of experience in genomics, software development and IP. Prior to his role at GQ Life Sciences, Heus worked at NV Organon/Akzo Nobel.	Ellen Sherin Senior Product Manager Ellen is the Senior Product Manager for GQ Life Sciences. She’s worked in the field of sequence since 1983. Before joining GQ, she spent over 35 years at DuPont in many different roles but ultimately as a professional searcher and in-house IP sequence search expert. Here at GQ, she is tasked with being the product visionary – continuing to guide GenomeQuest and LifeQuest development into the future in our never-ending mission to deliver the most outstanding solution for your biotechnology search needs.
Steve Allen Solutions Consultant Steve Allen joined GQ Life Sciences in September of 2017. He previously worked at Dupont and his background includes work in a patent group and work as a computational biologist in an agricultural discovery group. Steve has been working with sequence data of one form or another for over 20 years.	John Boland Senior Linux Systems Administrator John joined in June of 2015. He is responsible for the care and feeding of the various computer systems that power GQ Life Sciences.
Bill Perkins Major Accounts Manger With 20 years’ life science sales and marketing expertise, Bill currently helps global pharma, biotech, and agtech companies advance their strategic biological IP operations. He was part of the original team responsible for launching and expanding market share for GenomeQuest in the US.	Sandeep Amarapuram Lead Engineer, QA Sandeep Amarapuram has been with GQ Life Sciences since July 2017, where he currently leads QA activities for GQLS. He holds a graduate degree in computer science and has over 7 years of experience in manual and automation testing.
Steve Zhuang Senior Engineer Steve Zhuang joined Aptean in 2011 and transferred to GQ Life Sciences in November of 2017. He has over 14 years’ working experience in software development.	Swetha Gatty Associate Software Engineer Swetha became a part of GQ Life Sciences family in January, 2018. She works on the Content team. She is a Masters Graduate of Computer Science from Georgia State University. She has over 5 years of experience as a Software Developer.
Jimmy Tang Associate Engineer Jimmy Tang joined GQ Life Sciences in September 2015. He’s been working with both of content team and development team for the past two and a half years.	Heather Leeman Associate Manager of Technology Heather Leeman has been with GQ Life Sciences since September of 2017, where she serves as Associate Manager for the technology team. She holds a Masters Degree in Science and has almost two decades of experience in software development and delivery.
